International

An international student is defined as any student applying to ORU that is not a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.

At ORU, an international freshman is defined as any student with fewer than fifteen credit hours from a regionally accredited or otherwise recognized post-secondary institution. Applicants with the following credentials are considered for full acceptance. Applicants not meeting all criteria may be granted probational and/or conditional acceptance:

  • Rank in top 40% of class
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.6+ (4.0 scale) or GED of 52
  • ACT of 20+ or SAT of 990+ (math and critical reading only) or TOEFL of at least 61 (internet–based), 173 (computer-based) or 500 (paper–based)
At ORU, an international transfer student is defined as any student who has completed 15 or more college credit hours from a regionally accredited or otherwise recognized post-secondary institution after high school graduation.

A transfer applicant with a 2.0+ cumulative GPA will be considered for admission. When the applicant has attended more than one institution, the GPA from each school will be combined to calculate the cumulative GPA
