UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

Freshmen

At ORU, a freshman is defined as any student who has earned fewer than fifteen credit hours from a regionally accredited or otherwise recognized post-secondary institution after graduating from high school. Applicants with the following credentials are considered for full acceptance. Applicants not meeting all criteria may be granted probational and/or conditional acceptance:

  • Rank in top 40% of class
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.6+ (4.0 scale) or GED of 52
  • ACT of 20+ or SAT of 990+ (math and critical reading sections combined)

Early Acceptance

Candidates may apply to ORU at the conclusion of the junior year in high school. They should submit their completed application, scholastic records, an SAT or ACT score and request the required references. Senior-year test scores and grades should be submitted when available.


Each candidate must be a graduate of a secondary school or the recipient of a GED. The following secondary credits are recommended:

  • Four years of English
  • Two years of a foreign language
  • Two years of math including algebra and geometry or two years of algebra
  • Two years of social studies
  • Two years of science, one of which must be a laboratory science
  • Four years of electives
